The island of La Palma, also called the "beautiful island" or "green island" is a natural paradise with a great variety of landscapes: volcanoes, laurel forests, pine forests, valleys, mountains, beaches, small coves, etc. It is declared as a World Biosphere Reserve by Unesco.
It is curious the different microclimates that it possesses in its 710 Km2 of surface. It has an important network of trails of 1000 km that cover the entire island territory. In the center of the island, belonging to the municipality of El Paso, you can visit the Caldera de Taburiente National Park. It is imperative to visit the viewpoint of Roque de los Muchachos or the colorful waterfall. Another of the most requested routes is the Route of the Volcanoes that leaves of El Paso and ends in Fuencaliente. There are other interesting walks like: The Tilos, nascent of Marcos and Lambs, Cubo de la Galga, etc.
In addition to hiking, there are many other options for leisure and adventure in La Palma: diving, cycling, canyoning, kayaking, sea excursions and sea lions, paragliding and much more.
There are several museums of interest on the Island: San Francisco Museum and Naval Museum (Santa Cruz de la Palma), Archaeological Museum (Los Llanos), Silk Museum (El Paso), Tobacco Museum (Breña Alta), Museo del Platano (Tazacorte), Visitor Center (San Antonio Volcano or Zarza Cave, El Tendal, Belmaco Cave ...) with interesting inscriptions of Guanche petroglyphs.
